7 anti-aging super foods

I read this in yahoo news posted September 30, 2008 and I noticed that there are some foods for anti-aging and sometimes we think that this food is not good for our health. I immediately grab this and post it here, and share with you how to live a healthy living..

Read on to find out more about the 7 foods to keep you young:

Chocolate
The Kuna people of the San Blas islands, off the coast of Panama, have a rate of heart disease that is nine times less than that of mainland Panamanians. The reason? The Kuna drink plenty of a beverage made with generous proportions of cocoa, which is unusually rich in flavanols that help preserve the healthy function of blood vessels. Maintaining youthful blood vessels lowers risk of high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, kidney disease and dementia.

Blueberries
In a landmark study published in 1999, researchers at Tufts University’s Jean Mayer Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging fed rats blueberry extract for a period of time that in “rat lives” is equivalent to 10 human years. These rats outperformed rats fed regular chow on tests of balance and coordination when they reached old age. Compounds in blueberries (and other berries) mitigate inflammation and oxidative damage, which are associated with age-related deficits in memory and motor function. Eat more blueberries with healthy blueberry recipes.

Fish
Thirty years ago, researchers began to study why the native Inuits of Alaska were remarkably free of heart disease. The reason, scientists now think, is the extraordinary amount of fish they consume. Fish is an abundant source of omega-3 fats, which help prevent cholesterol buildup in arteries and protect against abnormal heart rhythms. Eat some tonight with a healthy fish recipe.

Nuts
Studies of Seventh-Day Adventists (a religious denomination that emphasizes healthy living and a vegetarian diet) show that those who eat nuts gain, on average, an extra two and a half years. Nuts are rich sources of unsaturated fats, so they offer benefits similar to those associated with olive oil. They’re also concentrated sources of vitamins, minerals and other phytochemicals, including antioxidants.

Wine
Drinking alcohol in moderation protects against heart disease, diabetes and age-related memory loss. Any kind of alcoholic beverage seems to provide such benefits, but red wine has been the focus of much of the research. Red wine contains resveratrol, a compound that likely contributes to its benefits-and, according to animal studies, may activate genes that slow cellular aging.

Olive Oil
Four decades ago, researchers from the Seven Countries Study concluded that the monounsaturated fats in olive oil were largely responsible for the low rates of heart disease and cancer on the Greek island of Crete. Now we know that olive oil also contains polyphenols, powerful antioxidants that may help prevent age-related diseases.

Yogurt
In the 1970s, Soviet Georgia was rumored to have more centenarians per capita than any other country. Reports at the time claimed that the secret of their long lives was yogurt, a food ubiquitous in their diets. While the age-defying powers of yogurt never have been proved directly, yogurt is rich in calcium, which helps stave off osteoporosis and contains “good bacteria” that help maintain gut health and diminish the incidence of age-related intestinal illness.

My daughter always surprise me. I've been complaining to her all the time why I don't have many opps just like her, and she told me that I don't have any page rank. She always encourage me just to go on, never surrender. Overcoming Disagreements

Disagreements are just normal for the members of the family or even to our friends and neighbors. Nobody is perfect and there are sometimes we committed mistakes through our actions, the way we talk and that sometimes started some arguments and disagreements. But no matter disagreements you have this can be overcome if you have a heart of consideration. Let’s consider one’s fault for we are not born perfectly.

A heartfelt compassion to one another is very important. Let us learn and teach ourselves to forgive to one another. Jesus Christ forgives our sins how much more for us? I know it’s very difficult to forgive and forget but nothing is impossible if you have a heart of compassion. We cannot do this alone, of course we have to ask guidance from above, I know He’s just up there! Whatever disagreements in the family fixed it immediately before it's too late to reconcile.

It's Wednesday!

the sweetest day comes not with the greetings we make each day but with the thought that somebody wishes the best for us every moment of the day, and today, i wish you the best!

The Aroma

Coffee has evolved all these years with cream, iced coffee, coffee with chocolate chip cookies. We have to do everything to taste the coffee good. No matter how people is trying to innovate coffee varieties, still does not lose its distinct aroma. It is just like us, no matter how we clothe ourselves with different personalities, still our character remains. People may destroy our image, stain our personalities, but the truth they can't take away our character. Live, exist and let your character diffuse it's distinct aroma!

Evening sigh!

Happy life is not how fast we move nor how long we live, but it is how we cherish every moment with our loved ones and most with GOD in our hearts.

In the ocean of life, GOD is our bouyant force, no matter how strong the wind and how gigantic the waves are, we still not sink because we are anchored to HIM. And trials is just like a washing machine, twist us , spin us, and knock us around but in the end, we come out cleaner, brighter and better then before, Have faith on HIM!

Domestic Violence

Domestic violence is now rampant all over the world.. Domestic violence is not only result to physical abuse but also economic abuse especially when the father loses income opportunities. And when this happens the harmonious relationship of family members is greatly affected in which later brings upsets other members of the community.

I think the government should do something to stop domestic violence. The social worker can build a project to guide them, or to have a leader in the community to organize a therapy session, advocacy and other activities that minimize domestic violence. I hope that this can be a big help to the people who are suffering this domestic violence.

The New Technology - iLASIK

Everyone wants to have a clear vision regardless of any profession. There is new and modern technology now the LASIK technology where the U.S military and NASA has been using this for five years and it is proven that their missions’ performance has been increasing, and it is also benefited to all civilians. It has been validated and clinically proven of effectiveness. Department of Defense (DOD) and NASA have been using this all-laser procedure to improve their vision.

The modern LASIK is known as iLASIK Procedure, 20/20 for better vision and this is more effective and safer compared to old LASIK. iLASIK uses 2 lasers whereas the old LASIK uses only one laser.

iLASIK, uses wave-front technology to chart the exclusive characteristics of the eyes in which create a corneal flap in the eye. It is computer guided in replacing the handled microkeratome blade that was used in old LASIK procedures, in which this is much safer. And after that, a wave-front mapping data will guide a second laser for vision correction. And these two lasers have been clinically proven, and it is much safer and it provides outstanding a visual results, and the procedure is painless.

It also offers financing that is affordable, the payments is as low as $89 a month, but there are some qualifications that makes you qualify for this great procedure. Visit their site now at LASIK technology or you can check it out in iLASTIK.com for more LASIK information.

Stress

All the time I heard people complaining about their jobs, family or anything that makes them tired, discontentment or they don't like the status of their living or any aspects what they have in life. Stress gives reaction to the person in different situation wherein it needs concentration and attention. There are three kinds of stress, the acute stress, episodic stress and chronic stress. Acute stress - seldom kind of stress and simple pressure where it comes from day to day basis or simple problem that encounters to any ordinary individuals. This can be considered as short-term stress. Episodic stress - this kind of stress makes the person crazy every time problems derive and they are irritated all the time. It includes symptoms and effects where you are going to suffer headaches, hypertension, chest pain and this might develop heart disease. If the acute stress can quickly cured but this episodic acute stress should consult to the specialist depends upon the level. Chronic stress - this can be considered the worst kind of stress wherein the life of a person is well affected. Obviously because of the hardship of life or marital problems or any shortcomings involving job or career. Too much stress can affect sometimes our relations to the people around us. And besides it develops hypertension, cardiovascular disease and others. Ther are some guides to fight back against stress: think always positive in life, exhale and inhale so that your muscle will relax, do some exercise that gives energy to our body, listen to a music, do some massage and talking to someone, friend, family and share with your problems with them, this can also help to minimize stress.

It's TV Time 2008!

Leno's leaving Tonight, Idol is adding a fourth judge, and there are a bunch of new shows.

Unemployment rate

According to the Department of Labor and Employment that the unemployment rate here in our country goes higher compared last year. Many fresh graduates remain unemployed now a days. According to some officials that most of them don't want to get employed and some are not qualified to the job that they are applying or no vacancy for the position that fit to their course.
In most cases those underemployed would extend work until Saturdays or adopt longer working hours in order to get additional income.
This problem has long been noted that is why DOLE has a tie-up program with the academe particularly counselors to address mismatch problems.
An industry forum is being conducted regularly so that the students at an early time will have an idea on what to take as a course and to prepare them on the kind of skills that would respond to the need of the industry. I hope the government should focus on this issue.

Happy Monday to Everyone!

So many people fail because they don't get started, they don't go, they don't overcome inertia, they don't begin, remember that you must act now because now is all you have, tomorrow is reserved for the labor of the lazy, you are not lazy, success will not wait, if you delay success, it will be wed to and lost to you forever. This is the time! This is the place! You are the person! Act on this day!
Good Morning!

Congratulation LAARNI!

A simple lass from Sultan Kudarat make her dream come true. She deserves it! Honestly I am a big fan of LAARNI, though sometimes she was misunderstood because of her emotions but shes is marketable real singer, true person, talented, and versatile voice in which others scholars don't have. She really deserves to be a Grand Star Dreamer!

Top Five Music

The Top Five shows us the most poular music ... so, what is popular music?
From Wikipedia.com: "Popular music is music belonging to any of a number of musical styles that are accessible to the general public and are disseminated by one or more of the mass media."

Go Laarani go!

I am a certified Kapamilya and since the reality show started at ABS-CBN I am one of the avid follower of the show. PDA is open to those who have talents in singing regardless of their standard of living. It is not impossible to reach your dreams if you have confident of yourself, strong determination and most of all be true of yourself. I admire LAARNI although she has a behavioral problem, but I can’t blame her because she has a traumatic experience when she was still 12 years old.
Speaking of talents, she’s really doing well of their weekly performance. And she has a versatile voice. And what touches in my heart is, her charity is for the blinds who are choir members. Tomorow night at 7:30 is an awarding nights, I hope LAARNI could make it! Just take a look how she made a duet to her star partnerJed Madela. That was August 23 the PDA 10th Gala Night.

Life means............

Life is like a baseball, when you're always given slow pitches to hit, you had never feel the thrill. So it is in life, problems come and go but it's the hard pitches that give meaning.
And life is also a paradox, what you want, you don't get, what you get sometimes you don't enjoy it. What you enjoy is not a permanent and what is permanent is boring, sounds weird isn't it? That's life.
Sometimes, we need to experience everything so that we are going to learn. There is no easy way in living life, so we have to live it as it is. We cry, laugh and sometimes crazy! And don't miss the chances that life is giving us because the most important things are not things at all, the most of the time, they are people making your life worth living.........

Talk it up!

We wave our arms, we inflect our tone, we reach out, we open our eyes, we lean in ... we do a lot of things to get our message across ... and then when we send a text message we abbreviate -- "OMG PAW KYFC" ... does our real message, our real intent, really get across to our online friends?

They, (whomever 'They' are) say that a picture speaks a thousand words ... hmmmm, maybe if we could combine text and pics, our messages would be more complete ... and a lot more fun.

Is that what a movie producer does, takes a text message and adds pics? How often have you read a book, then seen a movie and come out of the movie saying "that's exactly what the author meant" ... or "not exactly" ... the written word is powerful in the hands of powerful writers, but even that is left open to our interpretation.

Child Labor

Every child has the right to the most basic of necessities in life like a healthy environment, formal education, and most importantly, a loving family to come home to. Yet, poverty hinders the child to any of these things and forces to work in any kind of job which is not fit to their age.
The Department of Education has been signing an agreement regarding World Vision Development Foundation (WVDF) This program is to implement strong foundation to send back the children to school, where many children prefer to work than going to school, and it is estimated to 800,000 children in Philippines working and they are only paid 40 t0 50 pesos a day, and they don't have choice because they are very poor.
With this ABK2 Iniative or "Pag-aaral ng mga Bata para sa Kinabukasan." The DepEd and WVDF were joining together to initate public awareness campaign so that child labor eliminates and provoking children to attend their classes. The children are supposed to be in school and not in on the streets or in sweatshops working in horrible conditions.
This is not only to provides education for children who are out in school, it is also addresses the quality of education for children. I hope that this can be a big help to the children, and both the National and Local government have a big role to solve this problem.

Happy talkie, talkie ... Visual Talking

"What the heck are you saying?" Ever heard that before? Maybe Visual Talking can help. It's like the Twitter of PowerPoint presentations. Combine words and pictures to communicate -- it's that simple.

In your user question please consider asking something about a current event and how/if VT would apply, e.g., "Should the Olympic athletes use VT to help communicate?" or "Now that Britney has her bod back, should we send her VT messages to get her to quit smoking?" or "Should Homeland security include VT as part of their interagency communications package?"

Expressing my gratitude!

There are times that we are weak and discourage. I think it is normal for us as long as we still exist in this world. As a single mother to my children I always encounter problems especially financial problems. I strive hard for the sake of my children. And I am very thankful to God because He is always there for me in times I feel down and discourage. He is my comforter. And also to my family who are very supportive, and my children around me and I am glad that they are God fearing children. I don't have any regret at all being a single mom to them. People say that I’m strong enough because I am numb to any pain. Actually it is just my special technique, and what they don’t know is that I had to break my heart a million times just to master it!

Thank you Lord for being here with me always. And to my family, friends, and to my children that whenever I need them they are always there for me. Thanks in so many ways!

Good Shipping Services

U.S.A. has been the number one leading countries when it comes to packaging and mail forwarding, and they have a good and proper service globally for businesses and expatriates. My sister-in-law used to send us package from U.S. and I’m glad everything was intact.

MyUS.com’s package is a package forwarding service where you cannot encounter any difficulties in shipping and you can save money up to 70% on shipping for they have very low international shipping rates. And this can save more bucks when you shop at US retailers; they are going to combine many purchases in one package and this is good for you can save money on shipping.

Not only in shipping services they have, they also have some other services, in which you are going to enjoy. If you want weekly, biweekly or monthly they can do that for you. And you can choose the speed of delivery, and they are going to hold your package if you are not around, and this is good for security reasons. They also have good customer service. Before the package arrives they are going to send a notification by email, viewing the shipping invoices on line, calling you or sending fax or email. What a great services they have.

For more information visit MyUS.com website website and invite your friends, relatives and families to visit this site.

It hurt's to say goodbye!

I was in the wake of my auntie last night, and I feel very sad and very much upset and asking why? I remember the song of Barbara Streisand saying "some good thing will never last" I can't remember if this is the title or what but I never forget this song. And it's true just like human being good person will never last. Sometimes I can't stop asking myself why this going to be happen. I know GOD has a purpose and we can understand it little by and by.
Everything happen unexpectedly in our life make us upset, distress, discourage and we even think that everything in this world is finish. I love her, she's a very good mother, good auntie and a good friend. Suppose to be she's going to celebrate her birthday this coming September 9 and she's planning to have a big celebration, and we are planning too, to give her surprises that she's not going to forget until her last breath. But sad to say she give us surprise that makes our heart broken. It really hurts to say goodbye someone very special and very dear to our heart. Goodbye Auntie!

Waste Segregation

The real battle starts from our households, in additional that flooding is a symptom of a larger problem that should be addressed before it's too late. Why don't we try to start segregating our waste and to recycle the waste. Recycling is a must especially it's rainy days that it cause flood. And there must be a proper way to throw our waste. And the DENR should continue monitoring our local governments to solve this problem before its too late for the city to cope with.
